Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi faces lengthy Injury layoff
As footballers prepare for the 2024/2025 football season, there is a piece of sad news involving Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Terem Moffi who plays for OGC NICE.
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi will be sidelined for an extended period following a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury sustained during training with Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.
The club confirmed the news on their official website, stating: “Injured during training, Terem Moffi (25 years old) underwent additional tests today. These confirmed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.”
An ACL injury typically requires a recovery period of up to eight months. This setback comes as a significant blow to the 25-year-old, who has been a key player for Nice, scoring 20 goals in 52 appearances for the South of France club.
Moffi was part of Nigeria’s squad for the last international window, and played in the games against South Africa and Benin Republic.
