‘ Super Eagles will separate boys from men ‘- Asisat Oshoala responds to Yaya Toure’s AFCON prediction
Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala has expressed disagreement with Yaya Toure’s recent prediction about Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
Toure, a foremost Ivorien ex-international and Manchester City legend, had predicted Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau will progress from Group A, which also houses the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
In response, Oshoala dismissed Toure’s prediction, emphasizing the talent and capabilities of Nigeria’s players.
She highlighted Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface as key players who could lead the Super Eagles to success in the tournament.
“Talk is cheap. When we get to the tournament, we will separate the boys from the men,” Oshoala said on BRILA FM about Toure’s comments.
“Why not? We have the almighty Osimhen, the best player in Africa; we have Boniface doing well at club level. I feel like we have a good team; it’s not about individual talent.”
