Swallows’ Akpeyi Shines with 5th Clean Sheet in 8 Games, Sealing Gallants’ Fate
Daniel Akpeyi kept his fifth clean sheet in his eighth game to help Swallows beat Marumo Gallants 2-0 in a PSL game played on Saturday.
The Super Eagles goalie did a good job preventing the CAF Confederation Cup semifinalists from scoring a goal thereby sending them to the relegation.
South Africa midfielder Lindokuhle Mtshali scored both goals, one either halves to hand Swallows the win and condemned Gallants into relegation.
It is surprising how Gallants were playing in CAF Confederations Cup semis and now relegated from South Africa topflight league in just two seasons.
As for Akpeyi, he continues to get better keeping his 5th cleansheets in 8 games and only conceding 5 goals in those games.
