Tactically We Didn’t Lose Says Mourinho
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho does not believe his team were outmanaged in their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham and thanked the fans for their support in the heavy defeat.
A solid first half for the Red Devils, however, did not break the deadlock, and after the break Spurs dominated, scoring three goals through Harry Kane and a Lucas Moura double.
However, the manager struck a defiant tone following the loss, denying his team was not outmanaged despite the heavy beating.
“We worked all week and from the strategic point of view we didn’t lose,” Mourinho told Sky Sports . “From the tactical point of view, we didn’t lose. But we lost the game.”
The manager continued that praise on the club’s faithful, saying they responded despite the ugly looking scoreline.
“But all our fans don’t read papers. All of our fans don’t watch television. All our fans are more intelligent than that. They answered in absolutely amazing ways.
“I don’t think it’s normal for a team to lose at home and the supporters react the way they did.”
