Taifa Stars to Arrive in Uyo November 8 for Super Eagles Clash

Tanzania’s senior national football team, the Taifa Stars, are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday, November 8, ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against the Super Eagles.
The Tanzanian team will travel to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where they will face Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, November 13.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Media and Information Manager, Clifford Ndimbo, confirmed that players are expected to report to camp on November 8 to begin preparations for the match.
Head coach Miguel Gamondi will use the available training sessions to prepare his players for the challenge against the three-time African champions.
The Taifa Stars will be hoping to secure a positive result in Uyo as they push for a place at the 2027 AFCON.
Nigeria, meanwhile, will look to make good use of home advantage and the support of their fans to begin their qualifying campaign with a victory.
The second leg will take place in Dar es Salaam on November 17, 2026.
Tanzania’s early arrival in Nigeria is expected to give the team enough time to settle down and prepare for the first-leg encounter.
