Taiwo Awoniyi’s 9th league goal fires Union Berlin past Leipzig

Taiwo Awoniyi 9th league goal of the season fired Union Berlin past RB Leipzig in a Bundesliga game played on Friday.

The Super Eagles striker opened the scoring in Union Berlin 2-1 win against Leipzig at Alte Foersterei.

Awoniyi, drew the first blood with a fine finish in the 6th minute of the clash.

But former Paris Saint-Germain attacker Christopher Nkunku equalised for Leipzig in the 13th minute of the game.

Timo Baumgartl who assisted Taiwo Awoniyi goal scored what would be the winning goal in the 57th minutes of the game.

Taiwo Awoniyi was subbed off in the 79th minutes of the game but his contribution was enough to earn Berlin a 2-1 win.

The goal was Taiwo Awoniyi 9th in 14th league game this season.
