Tanzania hold Nigeria in 2024 FIFA U-20 WC qualifiers first-leg

Tanzania held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in their 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualification first-leg clash on Sunday. SportsRation reports.

The game on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Dar es Salaam was keenly contested but the more experienced Falconets of Nigeria enjoying the best chances of the game.

First half failed to produce any goals as both team returned to the changing room level on 0-0.

In the second half, Nigeria took a deserved lead through Chioma Olise in the 57th minute of play.

Coach Chris Danjuma tutored Falconets were cruising to a first leg win until the hosts struck to force a draw in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania U-20 girls levelled scores through Asnath Ubamba in the 70th minute.

At the expiration of regulation time, it finished Tanzania 1-1 Nigeria.

The return leg will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria on November 19, 2023.
