Team FCT Shines with Nine Medals on Day Three of National Sports Festival
Team FCT is making great progress at the 22nd National Sports Festival as the event enters its third day, winning a total of nine medals in different sports.
So far, the team has won 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, showing the skill and hard work of athletes trained by the FCT Sports Department.
In weightlifting, Esther Clement stood out by winning 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, thanks to her strong training and determination.
In the traditional game of Ayo, Team FCT won 2 gold medals. Jato Timothy took gold in the singles, while Sarah Kyerkyaa won gold in the female doubles.
Team FCT added another silver medal in Kung Fu, earned by Goodluck Emmanuel. In Taekwondo, Chijioke Kalu (80kg) and Usman Muhammed (58kg) both won bronze after strong performances.
The team also celebrated a gold medal in golf, with Grace Agbo finishing first with a great display.
With nine medals so far, the Director of FCT Sports Department, Luka Istifanus, praised the athletes, pointing out that all the medal winners are homegrown talents trained within the FCT system.
“This performance shows that our investment in grassroots sports is working. With more effort and God’s help, we believe our athletes will continue to make FCT proud,” said Istifanus.
