Tennis: Korda Stuns Murray In Adelaide International Tournament
Andy Murray started 2023 on a losing note at the Adelaide International with a straight loss to Sebastian Korda.
The 35-year-old lost 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 to the American.
He recovered from a breakdown in the first set to force a tie-break before Korda went to dominate the second set.
Similarly, Novak Djokovic Constant Lestienne 6-3 6-2 in his first singles match a year after he was deported from Australia due to vaccination issues.
The Serbian was delighted to return to Australia after he was treated to a rousing welcome by the fans.
“For the first match I can’t complain, I played very well,”

“If I have to pick one country where I’ve had the most success, which treated me in the best way in terms of tennis, it’s here, definitely.”
Murray and Djokovic will hope to bring their best game on court when the 2023 Australian Open starts on January 16 and billed to end on January 29.
Rafael Nadal won the 2022 edition of the tournament, defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final.
