Terem Moffi scores as Nice fall to Toulouse
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi scored a goal for OGC Nice, but his contribution wasn’t enough to secure victory as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Toulouse in the French Ligue 1.
Moffi led the line for Nice as they visited the Stadium Municipal to face Toulouse in their 24th game of the season.
Despite a promising start to the season, Nice have experienced a recent dip in form, with three losses in their last four games.
Early in the match, it seemed that Nice would reverse their fortunes after taking the lead.
2023 AFCON silver-medalist, Terem Moffi displayed excellent awareness as he capitalized on a rebound opportunity to slot home to give Nice a 1-0 advantage.
Following their goal, the game became more balanced, with Toulouse mounting pressure for an equalizer. Despite Toulouse’s efforts, Nice defended resolutely. Moffi had an opportunity to extend Nice’s lead in the 39th minute, but his shot narrowly missed the target.
The second half saw Toulouse intensify their efforts, leading to increased pressure on Nice. Moffi, who had a quieter second half, was substituted for Gaetan Laborde in the 64th minute.
Shortly after Moffi was replaced, Thijs Dallinga scored the equalizer for Toulouse in the 65th minute, followed by Yann Gboho’s goal four minutes later, putting Toulouse ahead 2-1.
Ultimately, the match ended 2-1 in favor of Toulouse, marking Nice’s sixth defeat of the season. Despite the loss, Moffi has now tallied seven league goals in this Ligue 1 campaign.
