This is every striker’s dream – Cyriel Dessers reacts after scoring in Feyenoord 2-1 win at Zwolle
Cyriel Dessers has said it is the dream of every striker to score a decisive goal after his winning goal in Feyenoord 2-1 win at PEC Zwolle in an Eredivisie game on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker who is having a great time in front of the goal scored the winning goal in the 77th minute with a powerful rocket.
Cyriel Dessers scored in his third game in a row to hand Feyenoord an away way ahead of their Thursday Europa Conference League game against Partizan and Eredivisie clash against Ajax next weekend.
“This is what you dream of as a football player,” says Dessers to ESPN.
“This is what you dream of as a footballer, to score decisive goals,” says Dessers to ESPN.
“It was another wonderful moment. It was a difficult and frustrating afternoon. We didn’t really have any chances in the first half.
“Then we conceded the goal just before half-time and we had to get to work,” said Dessers.
When Feyenoord was chasing the 1-2, there was an annoying interruption, after beer and fireworks were thrown at Feyenoord goalkeeper Ofir Marciano.
“He was even hit on his leg. That in itself was not bad for us, that we had to go inside for ten minutes. We were able to put our heads together in the dressing room and make a plan for the last fifteen minutes.
“That worked out well. Fortunately, I quickly made the 1-2. I took it out of the turn and saw it fly in fantastically.
“It was a real striker’s goal, the way I like to make them. Yes, I am happy with this.”
