Thomas Partey Reacts to Winning Ghana Player of the Year Award for a Third Time
Arsenal and Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed heartfelt gratitude after being named Ghana Player of the Year for the third time. Partey took to his official social media handle on Monday to react to the recognition, which comes on the heels of an impressive season in the English Premier League.
“I’m honored to receive the Ghana Footballer of the Year Award for the third time,” Partey wrote. “And to my foundation on winning the ‘Football for Good’ award — this is a testament to the impact we seek to make in our society.”
Partey clinched the prestigious award at a ceremony held on Saturday, June 14, edging out strong competition from fellow Black Stars teammates Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth and Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams. The award acknowledges Partey’s standout performances during the 2024/25 season with Arsenal, where he played a key role in midfield for the North London club.
The 31-year-old also used the moment to thank his close supporters and those who have contributed to his journey.
“I would also like to thank the organizers for this recognition, to my family and friends for the support, and to everyone who’s been part of this journey. I couldn’t have done it without you all,” he added.
Partey extended special appreciation to the media and sponsors who supported his recent scouting tournament in Ghana, and to fans who sent him birthday wishes over the weekend. “It means a lot to me,” he said.
This marks Partey’s third Ghana Player of the Year award, having previously claimed the honor in 2018 and 2019. His foundation’s recognition with the “Football for Good” award further highlights his commitment to using sport as a tool for social change in Ghana.
With this latest accolade, Partey continues to cement his legacy as one of Ghana’s most influential footballers on and off the pitch.
