Three key players return for Rangers ahead of CAFCC tie against Salitas
Enugu Rangers boosted by return of Ifeanyi George, Pape Sane, Samiu Liadi for crunch CAF Confederation Cup clash
Enugu Rangers will be boosted by the return of striker Ifeanyi George as well as defenders Pape Ousmane Sane and Samiu Liadi for tomorrow’s crunch CAF Confederation Cup clash at Salitas FC of Burkina Faso.
All three players missed the 2-0 home loss to Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia last week.
Former Enyimba central defender Isiaka Oladuntoye is also on the trip to Ouagadougou.
Rangers beat Salitas 2-0 when both teams first clashed in Enugu with goals from Godwin Aguda and Isaac Loute.
After going five games without a goal, the Burkina Faso club only found their scoring boots in their last domestic league game when they beat Etoile Filante 2-1 with 18-year-old Elliass Dianda and the Togolese Foovi Aguidi on target.
“We have put behind us the loss to Etoile and looking forward with optimism as we engage Salitas away from home,” said coach Gbenga Ogunbote.
“No doubt, it will be a tough game owing to the fact that they have not lost a game at home since the group stage started, but we believe that there will be a start to them losing.”
Rangers are third in Group B with four points after four round on matches, while Salitas are bottom with three points.
Etoile Sportive du Sahel top the standings on seven points with fellow Tunisians CS Sfaxien second on six points.
