- Oxygen Fc and Fullife Football Academy to battle for the top prize
The Final of the 2022 Akwa Ibom Grassroots Football league will take place today at the Onna Township stadium in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Oxygen Fc will face Fullife Football Academy in the final match. Kickoff is 3pm.
The Curtain will fall on a hugely rewarding second season. While the two sets of players size each other for the trophy plus seven hundred and fifty thousand naira cash prize , three of the players discovered during the league are in the Golden Eaglets Camp in the hope of selection to represent the country.
16 teams started the Journey but today the stage is gracefully adorned for the final two Oxygen Fc and Fullife Football Academy. A new winner will be crowned at the end of today’s contest.
Credit to the other teams who took part in the league. Last seasons Champions Krane Fc , Eagle Eyes Academy, Ikoya Fc, Barracks Fc , Blessed stars Academy, Jimbo International Fc , Unity Fc , Nichin Football Academy, Scorpion Fc, Edak Fc , New Flame Academy, Cheetah Fc , Pillars Investors Fc and Josima Fc .
The league put together by the Akwa Ibom state football Association in partnership with Flying sports Academy will have the winner smile home with the trophy plus Seven hundred and fifty thousand Naira while five hundred thousand naira will go into the coffers of the runners up.
Speaking with Sportsration Correspondent Nsikakabasi Akpan ahead of the final game CAF/FIFA licenced player Intermediary Mr Marshal Mbre who heads the Local organizing committee congratulated the finalists for a well deserved Journey to the final.
He said ” Playing to the final of a keenly contested league like ours is a huge feat. Kudos to all the teams who participated in the league this season. ”
” For the final, we are expecting a lot of guests from within and outside the state. Invitation has been extended to the Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports Sir Monday Uko . Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on sports Elder Paul Bassey , stakeholders and lovers of football in the state to join us at the Onna Township stadium for the grand finale. ” He Concluded.
Different shades of Glory awaits Oxygen Fc , Fullife Football Academy , the Akwa Ibom state football Association, Flying sports Academy and everyone who has contributed to the success of the 2022 Akwa Ibom Grassroots Football League.
