Toni Kroos: What Real Madrid Needs to Get Back on Top

Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has shared his thoughts on how the team can return to top form after a tough season.
Madrid had a disappointing year, ending with a 0-4 loss to PSG in the Club World Cup semi-final. This poor performance came after Kroos retired a year ago.
Now, the former German midfielder has given advice on what the team needs.
“To get back to the top, Real Madrid needs focus, discipline, and a better use of their new playing system,” Kroos said in an interview.
He added that the team must be stronger in defense, because when the team defends well, they can win the ball back faster and attack better. Without this, the players are always chasing the opponent or too tired to press.
Kroos believes that new manager Xabi Alonso will help the team improve, especially by helping them control the ball better and defend more as a team.
He also praised young star Arda Güler, saying:
“Arda brings something special. He was already good last season, but now he’s stronger physically too. Even if he loses the ball sometimes, his role is important as long as he helps the team defend.
