Liverpool are having their best season in many years so much that they are closed to claiming a Premier League title for the first time in their history.
Although the Anfield side had won the English league title 18 times they are yet to win a Premier League title since it was renamed in 1992.
One player who has definitely made a great impact on the reigning UEFA Champions League champions is Virgil van Dijk.
Since the former Celtic defender joined Liverpool from Southampton, the club has gone from strength to strength.
No doubt he is currently the best defender in the world at the moment but disregarding the players who had done something similar or better in the past just for ‘this moment’ is unwise.
