Tottenham Beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge as Mathys Tel Seals Victory

Tottenham Hotspur claimed a memorable 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 24, 2026, securing three valuable Premier League points under manager Roberto De Zerbi. An own goal from Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders and a late strike from Mathys Tel condemned the hosts to defeat in the London derby.

Chelsea started with attacking intent and created opportunities in the first half, but Tottenham goalkeeper Antonín Kinský made important saves to keep the score level. Spurs also threatened going forward, although neither side managed to break the deadlock before the interval.

The decisive moment arrived in the 77th minute when Penders punched a Tottenham corner into his own net under pressure, handing the visitors the lead. Chelsea’s afternoon deteriorated further when Cole Palmer was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Tottenham took advantage of their numerical superiority, with Tel producing a fine individual finish in the 87th minute to make it 2-0. His goal secured the victory and capped an impressive performance from De Zerbi’s side.

The result was particularly significant for Tottenham, who ended a difficult run of league visits to Stamford Bridge and recorded an important win over their London rivals. Chelsea, meanwhile, were left to reflect on missed opportunities, a costly goalkeeping error and Palmer’s dismissal.

For Spurs, the victory offered further encouragement under De Zerbi, while Chelsea will need a stronger response in their next fixture to put the disappointing result behind them.
