Tragedy as Serbian Coach Mladen Žižović Dies During League Match

A tragic incident occurred during a Serbian SuperLiga match on Sunday, as Mladen Žižović, head coach of Radnički 1923 from Kragujevac, passed away after collapsing on the touchline. He was just 44 years old.

The sad event took place in the 14th-round fixture against Mladost from Lučani. In the 22nd minute of the first half, Žižović suddenly collapsed near the sidelines. Medical staff rushed to his aid and quickly transported him to the hospital. However, despite their best efforts, doctors confirmed his death about twenty minutes later.

Following the devastating news, referee Jovan Šegrt decided to end the match early. Players from both sides were visibly emotional, with many seen crying on the pitch.

This was only Žižović’s third match in charge of Radnički 1923. The former Bosnia and Herzegovina international had built a respectable coaching career in recent years, earning recognition for his work.
