Trail Blazers end losing streak, Warriors continue to break and set records

The Portland Trail Blazers ended their seven-game losing streak by overcoming the Los Angeles Clippers 102-91 in NBA on Friday.

Damian Lillard starred for the Trail Blazers, posting 27 points as the Portland franchise returned to winning ways.

Lillard made four of his 10 three-point attempts, including three key baskets from beyond the arc late in the game to help the Trail Blazers pull clear of the Clippers.

Mason Plumlee contributed a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Trail Blazers team-mate CJ McCollum added 18 points of his own.

The Clippers were led by Blake Griffin and his 21 points, and veteran Jamal Crawford had 20.

Steph Curry was not at his best but he still managed to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 14-0 start after holding off the Chicago Bulls.

Curry scored 27 points, though he only made nine of 20 shots, as champions the Warriors overcame the Bulls 106-94 to maintain their 100 per cent record.

The Warriors are now one of five teams in NBA history to begin 14-0.

Harrison Barnes chipped in with 20 points in a game featuring 18 lead changes.

Jimmy Butler posted a game-high 28 points in Chicago’s road loss.

Anthony Davis made a welcome return, guiding the New Orleans Pelicans to a 104-90 victory at home to the San Antonio Spurs.

Davis returned from a sore shoulder to register 20 points and tally 18 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points as the New York Knicks held on to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 93-90.

Elsewhere, Andre Drummond helped the Detroit Pistons past the Minnesota Timberwolves 96-86.

The Toronto Raptors were 102-91 winners over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Mike Conley and Marc Gasol combined to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 96-84 victory against the Houston Rockets.

The Charlotte Hornets accounted for the winless Philadelphia 76ers 113-88, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Denver Nuggets 114-107, the Utah Jazz lost 102-93 to the Dallas Mavericks, while the Boston Celtics downed the Brooklyn Nets 120-95.
