Troost-Ekong Foundation Veterans Match Holds Today in Uyo
The William Troost-Ekong Foundation, in partnership with the Akwa Ibom State Footballers Association, will today, August 26, 2025, host a special veterans’ football match at the Uyo Township Stadium. The game kicks off at 4pm.
The event will see ex-footballers take to the pitch in a fun-filled encounter that will be followed by presentations to the veterans by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong. The match is one of the foundation’s activities aimed at giving back to the football community and celebrating those who have contributed to the game.
Since its launch, the Troost-Ekong Foundation has carried out several community service projects. Only a few months ago, it organised the U-15 Boys tournament in Uyo, which also had Al-Kholood of Saudi Arabia star Troost-Ekong in attendance.
Today’s event is expected to draw football veterans, stakeholders, and fans from across the state.
