Turkish Football Expert Warns Galatasaray Against Signing Osimhen

Turkish football expert Ertem Şener has warned Galatasaray not to sign Victor Osimhen, saying the move could damage the club financially.

The Nigerian striker, who is owned by Napoli, had a brilliant season, scoring 37 goals in all competitions. He played a key role in helping Galatasaray win both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.

Galatasaray want to sign him permanently, but Şener believes the deal is too expensive. He says the total cost — including Osimhen’s transfer fee and wages — could reach €150 million (around ₦267 billion in Nigerian currency).

“I don’t support Galatasaray buying Victor Osimhen,” Şener told habersarikirmizi.com.
“You will pay €25 million in wages every year and €70–75 million as a transfer fee. That is the road to bankruptcy.”

He added that even winning the Champions League would not help Galatasaray recover such a huge amount of money.

Şener also claimed that Osimhen prefers to move to the Middle East, where clubs can offer higher wages.

“From what I’ve heard, Osimhen wants to go to Saudi Arabia to earn more money from Arab clubs,” he said.

Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are reportedly working on a deal to sign Osimhen before the FIFA Club World Cup, and a decision is expected soon.
