Two Players sent off after pulling Aedan Scipio Long Dreadlocks
A bizarre incident happened during the Concacaf Nations League. Two players were sent off after pulling the dreadlocks of an opponent.
The incident happened during Antigua and Barbuda’s 5-0 win over Anguilla on Saturday. The Anguilla side had Aedan Scipio on the pitch, a 36-year-old international who keeps dreadlocks that stretch almost to his ankles.
Scipio came on in the 69th minute, and just a few minutes later, Keon Greene pulled his dreadlocks while trying to stop him. The referee immediately gave Greene a red card.
Then, late in the match, it happened again.
Shalon Knight also grabbed Scipio’s dreadlocks in an attempt to stop him, and he was given a red card as well.
That meant Antigua and Barbuda, despite already leading 5-0, finished the match with nine players after two of their players were sent off for pulling the same opponent’s hair.
