U-17 AFCON: Burkina Faso defeat Cameroon to book Nigeria last-8 meeting
Burkina Faso came from a goal down to defeat Cameroon 2-1 and book a quater-final vs Nigeria at the ongoing U-17 AFCON in Algeria.
The group C clash on Sunday May 7 was the last of the group stage. Both teams were in desperate search of a win to finish behind Mali in the group.
Burkina Faso were forced into a first half substitution when Ouedraogo came on to replace Bah as the two teams cancelled each others attempts in a drab half.
In the second half, Cameroon broke the deadlock through Yondjio M. With group stage elimination looming, Burkina Faso improved their game to get two-goals in ten minutes to turn the table on the Young Lions.

Cameroon did push hard but Burkina Faso held on to send the defending champions out of the tournament.

Nigeria`s Golden Eaglets finished as runners-up in group B, behind Morocco. The game against Burkina Faso will be a rematch of the WAFU Zone B Championship Final match. Coach Nduka Ugbade tutored Eaglets defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 to win the title in 2022.
The winner of the last-8 clash will secure one of four available tickets to the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup plus a place in the semi-finals of the 2023 U-17 AFCON.
