U-17 FWWC: Day 3 wrap

Four games took place on Matchday three of the India 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

RESULTS

Nigeria recovered from a 2-1 loss to Germany on Friday afternoon to spank New Zealand 4-0 and get their campaign back on track.

Germany made it two wins from two games with a 6-0 spanking of Chile. The Chileans were 3-1 victors over New Zealand in the first game but were overpowered by European Champions Germany.

Brazil and USA shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Both teams winners on the opening day struggled to upend each other on Friday .

In the fourth game of the day, hosts India suffered even more pain in front of their fans.  A 0-3 loss to Morroco adding India’s misery from a 0-8 spanking in the hand of USA .

MORE GOALS

The 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup produced 26 goals in the first eight matches .

15 goals were scored in the four matches on Day three to sum 41 goals in 12 games.

THE TABLES IN GROUP A AND B

In Group A, the United States of America sit top with four points and a healthy +8 goal difference the edge above Brazil who have same number of points (4).

Morroco sit in third place while Thomas Dennerby tutored India languish at the bottom of the standings after two heavy losses.

Germany lead Group B after taking maximum points from Nigeria and Chile who occupy 2nd and 3rd spot respectively with 3 points.

New Zealand are 4th with no points following defeat to Chile and Nigeria.
