U-17 Women’s World Cup: Nigeria to face Germany in Group stage
The Flamingos, Nigeria’s U-17 women team have been drawn in Group B for the upcoming 2022 U-17 Women’s World Cup scheduled for October 11th to 30th in India, after the draws were conducted today.
The Flamingos booked their place in the competition in style, defeating the likes of Egypt and Ethiopia en route to the finals without conceding a single goal throughout the qualifiers.
The girls were drawn in Group B alongside European giants Germany, New Zealand, and Chile. None of the sides in the group have ever won the competition. The Flamingos’ best finish in the competition has been three quarterfinals in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
The other African sides in the competition, Morocco and Tanzania, have been drawn in Group A and Group D, respectively. Morocco will face hosts India, USA and Brazil, and Tanzania will face Japan, Canada and France.
