U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles train in Egypt ahead of Senegal opener
Flying Eagles of Nigeria have had their first training in Egypt a day after landing in the venue for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The 20 players and their officials arrived at the Cairo International Airport around 5:30 pm local time after a 5hrs 30 minutes journey.
And on Friday they took to the pitch at the Jewel Sports City and Aqua Resorts where they are currently lodged to have a feel of the Egyptian weather and grass.
The Flying Eagles who are unbeaten in 18 friendly matches will play their first game of the 2023 U-AFCON against
the Young Teranga Lions of Senegal at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday.
Then they will play their second game against Egypt, and last against Mozambique on 22nd February, and 25th February respectively.
Egypt and Mozambique will play the first game of the tournament on Sunday at 9 am before Nigeria play Senegal at 12 pm.
The tournament will run from 19th February – 11th March.

Only the semifinalists will qualify automatically for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia which will be held between Sat, May 20, 2023 – Sun, and Jun 11, 2023.
