U-20 World Cup: USA spank New Zealand to reach quater-final

The United States of America – USA spanked New Zealand 4-0 to reach the quater-final of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

As expected, it was the USA U-20 team who dominated proceedings in the 2023 U-20 World Cup Round of 16 clash at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas and duly secured a third win over New Zealand at U-20 level.

In like manner as their two previous meetings which ended in 6-0 and 4-0 wins for the Ameriacans, it was another flawless 4-0 win for USA.

Owen Wolff fired USA in front in the 14th minute of what represented a decent score-line for Oceania representatives New Zealand.

The second 45 minutes saw the Americans score three more goals to push through in Mendoza.

Cade Cowell fired in a left footed shot in the 61st minute for 2-0.

Justin Che added a 3rd in the 75th minute finishing off a quick break by the CONMEBOL champions before Rokas Pukstas headed home a Brandon Craig free-kick in the 82nd minute to round up the rout.

It finished USA U-20 4-0 New Zealand U-20. The Americans will go into the quater final while New Zealand head home.
