UCL: Sadio Mane Joins Didier Drogba as Africa’s top scorer in the Champions League knockout stages.

Sadio Mane is not a center forward like Didier Drogba but the Senegalese has managed to equal the Chelsea legends record of 14 goals in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.

Sadio Mane achieved the feat with his strike in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Villarreal in the First leg Semi Final clash of the UEFA champions league at Anfield on Wednesday 27th April 2022.

The AFCON Champion has now scored a total of 23 goals in Europe’s premier completion 21 shy of Didier Drogba’s 44 goal tally during his time at Marseille, Chelsea and Galatasaray.

With Liverpool on course for a place in the final, Sadio Mane is certainly going to have another chance to score and surpass the Ivorian Football great to become Africa’s highest goal scorer in the Knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
