19-year old Lesley Ugochukwu made his English Premier League debut for Chelsea FC in their 1-1 draw vs Liverpool FC.
Chelsea FC manager Mauricio Pochettino introduced the midfielder who is of Nigerian descent in the 89th minute for Ben Chilwell.
The France Under-19 international joined the Blues for a reported fee of £23.5 million (27.3 million euros, $30 million), in the current transfer window and forms a part of the new look Chelsea FC team.
In their English Premier League opening game, Chelsea FC went behind after 18 minutes when Luiz Diaz finished off a well worked team move to put Liverpool FC in front.
New signing Axel Disasi equalized for Chelsea FC in the 37th minute. The Blues had the ball in the net two minutes later but Chilwell was adjudged to be in an offside position and so his goal was chalked off.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men dominated the second half but could not break through the Liverpool FC backline.
By the time Ugochukwu entered the fray in the 89th minute for his Premier League bow, there was no opportunity for the former Rennes teenager to make his mark, and so he will wait for more minutes.
Lesley Ugochukwu is the nephew of former Nigerian International, Onyekachi Apam.
