Uzoho reacts after blunder against Seychelles as Rohr counts on Akpeyi and Ezenwa for Egypt clash
Super Eagles goalie Francis Uzoho has reacted for the first time after his blunder nearly cost the team perfect qualifier ending in their 3-1 win against Seychelles on Friday.
The Anorthosis Famagusta FC was at fault for Seychelles only goal of the match which was an equalizer.
The Deportivo goalie on loan in Cyprus misjudged the flight of a ball to allow Melanie Rody equalize for the Pirates after Igahlo put Nigeria up from the spot.
“Mixed feelings yesterday for me. Happy to be back on this colors but not happy that i nearly cost my team the game…On to the next one to make things right. IN CHRIST ALONE,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he will be banking on either of Daniel Akpeyi or Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the friendly match against Egypt.
“We’ll see the other goalkeepers against Egypt,” Rohr said in his post-match interview.
“They will play and we are confident that they won’t disappoint when they play on Tuesday. Akpeyi or Ezenwa will play the game.”
Francis Uzoho has been released for the U-23 for their AFCON U-23 qualifier clash against Libya on Monday while Eagles will play Egypt in an international friendly the following day; both games will be played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
