van Gaal giving Bosz tips on how to beat Mourinho despite still being on Manchester United payroll
Louis van Gaal is helping Ajax plot Manchester United‘s Europa League downfall barely 12 months after leaving the club, according to reports.
The two giants of European football go head-to-head in Wednesday’s final in Stockholm, with Van Gaal having managed both, though Ajax is the club closest to his heart.
And now the Mirror report that Van Gaal has been giving the Dutch club tips, and was spotted deep in discussions with Ajax boss Peter Bosz.
The pair were together at an annual presentation for Dutch league managers this week, with Bosz of the belief that no-one knows Jose Mourinho’s tactics as well as Van Gaal.
The veteran manager, who served as Mourinho’s tutor at Barcelona, is known to have been disappointed with the way he was ousted by his one-time apprentice at United.
Mourinho made a big play for the Old Trafford hotseat while Van Gaal was still in charge.
Ironically, Van Gaal will still technically be on United’s payroll when the Europa League final takes place, with his financial settlement not ending until June 30.
