Vandrezzer FC announce appointment of new coach, home-ground ahead of 2023/2024 season opening game
Nigeria National League club, Vandrezzer FC have announced the appointment of a new coach and homeground ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
Vandrezzer FC on Saturday, November 18, 2023 confirmed the appointment of Ike Thankgod as Head Coach.
Last season, Ike Thankgod was assistant coach to Ivorien gaffer Niambele Adama Mohammed.
This will be his first managerial role since retiring from active football after years as an assistant coach.
Ike Thankgod’s arrival features among several changes at the club ahead of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League season.
During his illustrious playing career, Ike Thankgod represented Nigeria and also clubs like Heartland FC, Warri Wolves, Abia Warriors FC, Enyimba FC and Fanja SC of Oman league.
In social media posts on Saturday, November 18, 2023, Vandrezzer FC said Ike Thankgod will take charge of the team in the 2023/2024 season to be assisted by Coach Alfred Madaki.
After announcing the appointment of Coach Ike Thankgod and his assistant Alfred Madaki, Vandrezzer FC confirmed a new home for the 2023/2024 season.
The Lions of Naija played the 2022/2023 season at the Eket Stadium.
Vandrezzer FC will play the 2023/2024 season at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The new home for the Lions is situated in the heart of the Akwa Ibom State capital and also serves as home for NNL side, Dakkada FC.
Fans of Vandrezzer FC will see a new-look side this season.
The NNL club will be handled by a new management crew following off-season changes which also includes the exit of Mr Fatai Olayinka who was in charge of the day-to-day activities at the club.
The playing squad is not left out of the changes. Vandrezzer FC replaced 80% of the players from the 2022/2023 season.
A new season and a new start for Vandrezzer FC will begin on Sunday, November 19, 2023 when they host NNL new-boys, Coal City FC on matchday one of the 2023/2024 NNL season.
That match will Kick-off by 3pm at the Uyo Township Stadium.
