Victor Boniface and Leverkusen teammates earn praise from German legend
German football legend Rudi Voller is full of praise for Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and his Bayer Leverkusen teammates.
Bayer Leverkusen have had their best-ever season this year. They won the Bundesliga title for the first time ever. What is more, they haven’t lost a single game in Europe’s top five leagues, which is quite a feat.
Their success is not just in the Bundesliga. They’ve also reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, and many believe they have a good chance of winning it.
This season, Bayer Leverkusen have surprised many people. People didn’t expect them to do so well at the beginning of the season. But with a mix of young talent and experienced players, they’ve become the talk of Europe.
Players like Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have played exceptionally well. Plus, their two new Nigerian players, Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella, have been crucial to their success. Boniface alone has scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 30 games across all competitions.
Voller, who won the World Cup with Germany in 1990, is impressed with Bayer Leverkusen’s performance. He praised the team’s coach for putting together a fantastic squad and employing tactics that make them seem unbeatable.
“With players like Granit Xhaka, Jeremie Frimpong, Alejandro Grimaldo, Victor Boniface, and Patrik Schick, everything seems to click perfectly,” he said in an interview with Spox.
With the Bundesliga title secured, Bayer Leverkusen is now aiming for success in the Europa League and the German Cup. They’re in a strong position to potentially win all three trophies this season.
