Victor Boniface anticipates return to action for Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface is eagerly awaiting his return to the pitch after a period of absence due to injury.

The 23-year-old Nigerian forward underwent surgery in January but has made a swift recovery, returning to training this week.

Initially expected to be sidelined until around April, Boniface’s quick recovery has raised hopes of an earlier return to action. There are even speculations that he could feature in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash with TSG Hoffenheim this weekend.

Expressing his excitement about returning to action, Boniface acknowledged the team’s commendable performance in his absence. He emphasised his desire to contribute to the team’s success and enjoy playing alongside his teammates once again.

“The team did very well without me. When I came to Leverkusen, I said that I don’t look at rankings or individual scores,” Boniface stated. “Of course, goals and assists are important, but the most important thing for me is to be able to help the team with my style of play and simply have fun. I really miss being on the pitch with my teammates and hope to be back soon.”

Boniface has been a key player for Bayer Leverkusen this season, registering impressive statistics with 16 goals and eight assists in 23 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself.

His imminent return to action is anticipated to further bolster Leverkusen’s attacking prowess as they continue their campaign in the Bundesliga.
