Victor Boniface Celebrates Tolu Arokodare’s First Goal for Nigeria

Victor Boniface has congratulated his Super Eagles teammate Tolu Arokodare after the young striker scored his first goal for Nigeria in their 1-1 friendly draw against Russia on Friday.

Arokodare came off the bench in the second half to replace Boniface and quickly made his mark. Just ten minutes after coming on, he took advantage of a poor pass from the Russian goalkeeper and calmly slotted in Nigeria’s equaliser at the Luzhniki Stadium.

After the match, Boniface shared a short but heartfelt message on his Instagram story, writing: “Congrats my guy” to celebrate Arokodare’s special moment.

A Show of Support from Boniface

Boniface, who has faced some criticism for his performances with the national team compared to his strong form at Bayer Leverkusen, still showed full support for Arokodare. Despite being substituted before the goal, he expressed happiness for his teammate’s success.

This message comes shortly after Boniface posted – and then deleted – a cryptic story on Instagram, which had raised questions about his future with the Super Eagles. However, his warm message to Arokodare shows he remains supportive of the team.

A Special Night for Arokodare

For Tolu Arokodare, it was a night to remember. The goal was not only his first for Nigeria, but it also gave him a boost as he looks to become a regular part of the national team’s attacking options.

The Super Eagles, winners of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, will now turn their attention to their FIFA World Cup qualifiers set to begin later this year.
