Victor Osimhen to Join Super Eagles In Morocco for 2025 AFCON

Super Eagles players Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon will join the Nigerian national team in Fez, Morocco, after missing the team’s arrival in Cairo on Tuesday.
Head coach Eric Chelle has allowed the Galatasaray striker and the Paris FC winger to travel straight to Morocco, where the team will continue their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria are currently in Cairo, where they lost 2–1 to Egypt on Tuesday night in a friendly match. The game was part of the Super Eagles’ build-up to the tournament, which begins on Saturday, 21 December 2025.
At the moment, 26 players are in camp under Chelle’s control. Players who arrived recently include Samuel Chukwueze, Chidozie Awaziem, Usman Mohammed, and new defender Salim Fago.
On Wednesday, the team will start the day with a recovery session in the gym at 11:00 a.m. Later in the day, they will have a tactical training session at 5:00 p.m.
Nigeria, who have won the AFCON three times, are in Group C with Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Super Eagles will play their first match against Tanzania on 23 December, then face Tunisia four days later. Their final group game will be against Uganda on 31 December.
With Osimhen and Moses Simon expected to arrive in Morocco, the coaching staff hope to have a full squad as preparations step up ahead of their first AFCON match.
