VIDEO: Aleksandar Trajkovski’s last goal sends Italy crashing out of 2022 World Cup

As North Macedonia set up final clash against Portugal

Aleksandar Trajkovski scored a 92nd-minute goal to send Italy crashing out of the 2022 World Cup and help North Macedonia set up a final clash against Portugal.

Against all odds, North Macedonia secured a 1-0 win against Italy at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in their UEFA Qualification: World Cup Play-Off on Thursday.

The European champions did everything but score a goal against a stubborn North Macedonia who eventually got the winning goal to deny Italy again.

After missing out on the last edition in Russia, Italy will now miss out on this year’s World Cup scheduled for Qatar in the summer.

In the other semis, Portugal defeated Turkey 3-1 to book a place in the final where they will play North Macedonia.
