Gift Emmanuel Orban has announced his arrival in Belgium’s top-flight league with two goals including an iconic strike to help Gent to a 3-3 draw at Westerlo.
The 20-year-old forward who joined the Belgium giants, Gent from Norwegian club Stabaek for a fee of €3.5m in January has wasted no time in repaying his new club.
Gift Orban was immediately thrown into the thick of the action and he ensured his side walked out of the Het Kuipje with a point.
Genk drew the first blood in the 14th minute from a spot kick converted by Hugo Cuypers, but two minutes later the home team drew parity through Maxime De Cuyper.
Gift Orban restored Gent’s lead in the 30th minute of the game but former Tottenham attacker, with an iconic acrobatic strike, Nacer Chadli pulled back for Westerlo five minutes later.
Two minutes after the start of the second half, Lukas Van Eenoo put the home team in front for the first time in the game to the delight of the fans.
But Gift Orban would not let Gent leave Het Kuipje without a point, and he scored again to restore parity for the visitors.
Gift Orban was on the pitch the entire time and ended his debut by scoring two goals which earned Gent a valuable point on the road.
He was the top scorer in the Norwegian first division, his goals helped pushed Stabaek back to the Eliteserien the highest Norwegian professional league.
