VIDEO: Victor Osimhen’s goal against Frankfurt shows an improvement in one part of his game

Luciano Spalletti deserves credit too

Victor Osimhen has continued his remarkable form with his 20th goal of the season to hand Napoli a 1-0 lead going into the half-time break against Frankfurt.

The Nigerian striker who recently became the first man in the history of S.S.C Napoli to score in 7 consecutive Serie A games, scored late in the first half to hand The Parthenopeans the lead at halftime.

Napoli traveled to the Europa League champions, Frankfurt for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 games on Tuesday.

And as expected, Victor Osimhen scored the first goal of the game after he finished off a counter-attacking move started by Hirving Lozano.

While the goal might look like a regular strike, credit to Victor Osimhen for working on this part of his game.

Last season, Victor Osimhen was caught in the offside position in most games making some of his goals ruled out for offside.

It was so evident in the Europa League game against Barcelona where he was caught in the offside position more than four times.

Luciano Spalletti mentioned this during his post-match conference asking Victor Osimhen to work on his movement.

“He still needs to learn about the right movements, as in the second half he was caught offside four or five times when he really should’ve been following the line,” Spalletti told footballtalia.

Again, this season after a champions league game against Ajax, Luciano Spalletti still talked about his movement urging Victor Osimhen to work on it after his goals were disallowed.

“Osimhen was often offside because he was so eager that he started the runs early,” explained Spalletti.

Kudus to the special coach Luciano Spalletti who has taken Victor Osimhen under his wings, and also to the Nigerian striker who has taken to his boss’s advice.
