Villareal ready to cash in on Samuel Chukwueze
Villareal will this summer consider cashing in on Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze according to reports in Spain.
Chukwueze is having one of his best seasons at the club and is already courting interest from England with Aston Villa topping his list of prospective suitors. His current contract will be due in June 2024, reason Spanish transfer market website Todofichajes reports the Yellow Submarine are ready to do business if a good offer arrives this summer.
Samuel Chukwueze has been in fine form at the club and has taken part in the vast majority of the side’s LaLiga games in 2022/2023. He has been selected in the starting XI for 16 games while coming on as a substitute on nine occasions for 6th placed Villareal CF.
Villareal will be tempted into negotiation if a bid in the region of 30 million euros (£26.5m) arrives for the Nigerian speedster. This is well within the financial strength of Aston Villa and so a transfer is talked up by multiple Spanish media outlets.
Following the 23-year old`s personal best return of 11 goals and 11 assist for the Spanish outfit, former Villarreal boss Unai Emery is said to be keen on taking Chukwueze to his current English Premier League club Aston Villa.
Everton have been on the trail of the Super Eagle for two-years and is expected to return with a bid this summer if the club retains its Premier League status.
Since joining Villareal, Chukwueze has made 195 appearances and was instrumental to the clubs UEFA Europa League win in 2021 under Unai Emery who left the club during the season to replace England Legend Steven Gerrard as Aston Villa manager .
Ahead of the summer, Quique Setien tutored Villareal have already secured the services of versatile Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Díaz on a free transfer while Celta de Vigo loanee Denis Suárez is expected back at the club at the end of the current season.
Samuel Chukwueze will return to action with Villareal on Sunday April 2 after what was on a personal level, a difficult international break. The right-winger could not replicate his club form in two games for Nigeria vs Guinea-Bissau.
