Vincent Enyeama’s Brother Appointed Assistant Coach at French Club USM Merville

Aniekan Enyeama, the elder brother of former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, has been appointed as assistant coach of French lower-division club USM Merville.

The club announced the appointment following the departure of former coach Yannick Blondiau, who guided the team from the fourth division to the Régional 2 Hauts-de-France league.

USM Merville have chosen a new coaching partnership to lead the team, with Sébastien Lemoire and Aniekan Enyeama taking charge of the first team.

The appointment has attracted attention because of Aniekan’s family connection to Vincent Enyeama, one of Nigeria’s greatest goalkeepers. Vincent played for French club Lille from 2011 to 2018 and earned more than 100 caps for Nigeria during his international career.

In a statement announcing the new coaching team, USM Merville said the duo will be responsible for helping the club maintain its place in the Régional 2 division for a second consecutive season.

Apart from unveiling the new coaches, the club also confirmed the arrivals of new players Matéo Cichoki and Jules Faisca De Oliveira ahead of the new campaign.

USM Merville are based in Merville in the Hauts-de-France region of France and currently compete in the Régional 2 Hauts-de-France league.

The appointment marks a new chapter in Aniekan Enyeama’s coaching career and adds another Nigerian name to the coaching ranks in European football.
