‘Visit our local communities’ – Ahmed Musa advises Super Eagles teammates
Ahmed Musa, captain of the Super Eagles, has urged his teammates to engage with the youth during their offseason break. This appeal came during his visit to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Plateau State.
During his visit to the IDP camps in Mangu and Bokkos LGAs, Musa spent time encouraging both Muslims and Christians affected by the displacement, assuring them of their safe return to their homes soon. He shared his experiences and motivated the youth, emphasizing the importance of hope and perseverance.
Musa, who has made 108 appearances for Nigeria and holds the record as the most-capped player since November 2021, highlighted the impact that Super Eagles players can have on their communities. He said on X (formerly Twitter), “To my fellow colleagues, can I use this opportunity to implore us to use this holiday period to visit our local communities and engage with the youths. Many of them feel like they don’t have any hope for the future and are almost on the verge of giving up, but by interacting with them as role models, sharing our life experiences, etc., we can inspire them not to give up and show them that they can achieve their goals in life. Our presence and encouragement can make a significant difference.”
Musa’s appeal reflects his commitment to giving back to the community and using his platform to inspire the younger generation. His visit to the IDP camps and his call to action for his teammates underscore the role of athletes as positive role models and agents of change in society.
