WAFU B Tourney: Ghana crash out as Nigeria face Cote d’Ivoire in the semis

Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles will now face Cote d’Ivoire in the semifinal of the ongoing WAFU B Tourney while the defending champions, Ghana have been eliminated.

Ghana who were beaten by Nigeria in their first game of the tournament were also beaten 2-1 by Burkina Faso at GSK Stadium on Saturday.

The result which puts Nigeria top of Group B with 4 points same as second place Burkina Faso but Flying Eagles have better goal difference.

This mean Nigeria will now face Cote d’Ivoire who finished second in group A while Benin Republic will face Burkina Fase in the other semifinal.

The games will be played next week Tuesday.

The Benin Repulic v Burkina Faso

Only the two finalists at the WAFU B Championship in Niamey will be eligible for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations, already scheduled in Egypt for February/March.
