Waldrum impressed with Morocco style, predicts though semifinal clash

Gives update on Plumtre

Randy Waldrum has revealed that the semifinal clash between Nigeria and Morocco will be a tough game as his team eye the 10th WAFCON title.

The American during his pre-match revealed that he likes the Atlas Lionesses’ style of play and expects a tough game on Monday.

But he and the girls will be ready for the clash.

“The players are excited we are going to the World Cup, we have been able to recover. We are looking forward to the game on Monday evening.

“I took the job and I understand I have to raise the standard. I am always in contact with the President (@PinnickAmaju) to ensure we have the best plans for the team. This is an amazing group of women to work with, but we still have to do more.

“I saw Morocco last year in September and I am impressed with the kind of football they play. Their football is outstanding and how they have been able to develop the game. We have a big challenge and we won’t take the game lightly. We have respect for them.

“We took Plumptre off in the game against Cameroon because she didn’t play the previous two games. Fortunately, all our players are healthy for tomorrow’s game including Plumptre.”

Hosts, Morocco and Nigeria will play at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex on Monday for a place in the final by 9 pm Nigerian time.
