Wanted by three!! Red-hot Super Eagles forward gets third suitor in winter transfer tussle
Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi is banging goals for FC Lorient in the French Ligue One to attract winter transfer interest from three clubs.
West Ham and OGC Nice have previously been mentioned with interest for the Nigerian forward and will now be joined by Olympique Marseille.
According to multiple sources in France, French Ligue One giants Olympique Marseille have joined the race for Terem Moffi.
Marseille are looking to add more firework to their attack and have identified Moffi as a good fit for an attack that has produced 39 goals in the league this season, the third highest in the French top-flight this season.
To go ahead of West Ham and OGC Nice, Marseille are proposing a cash plus player bid for Moffi.
That will beat West Ham’s offer, the Hammers quoted to have tabled a bid of £20 million plus £5 million in add-ons for the Nigerian International.
FC Lorient were comfortable with handing over the forward to West Ham but will have a rethink following the Marseille offer.
Moffi has scored 12 goals in 18 league appearances for Les Merlus this season to help the club to 7th place on the French Ligue One standings.
There is growing understanding within the FC Lorient camp that Terem Moffi will leave. A number of possible replacements have already been identified, a reason the club wants the bidding war closed as soon as possible.
