Warri Wolves Keep NPFL Promotion Hopes Alive With 3-0 Win Over Kun Khalifat FC

Warri Wolves have revived their promotion hopes to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after a commanding 3-0 victory over Kun Khalifat FC in an NNL Super 8 Matchday 2 clash at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
After a disappointing start to the playoffs—losing 1-0 to Osun United—Warri Wolves came into Monday’s match under pressure. Kun Khalifat, on the other hand, were in good form following their 1-0 win over Crown FC.
But it was the Wolves who showed greater hunger, bouncing back in emphatic fashion to secure their first win of the tournament.

Jude Stars As Wolves Roar Back
Warri Wolves started the match with intent and were soon rewarded when Jude scored twice in the first half, giving the team full control going into the break. In the second half, Yarhere Efe added the third goal in the 66th minute, putting the result beyond doubt.
The result lifts Warri Wolves to three points, the same as Kun Khalifat, but the Wolves now hold the advantage on goal difference going into the final round of matches.
What It Means
The victory keeps Warri Wolves firmly in the race for NPFL promotion from the Southern Conference of the NNL Super 8.
Meanwhile, Osun United and Crown FC are currently playing the day’s final fixture. The outcome of that match will heavily influence the final day scenarios, with all four teams in the group still in with a chance.
The last set of matches on Thursday will now decide which two teams progress from the Southern Conference to Nigeria’s top flight.
Warri Wolves will face Crown FC, while Kun Khalifat FC are set to battle Osun United in what promises to be a dramatic finale.
