Warriors’ Curry and Kerr fined $50,000 for game six behaviour

Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr will both have to pay $25,000 fines for their actions during the Golden State Warriors’ 115-101 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in game six of the NBA Finals.

Unanimous MVP Curry was fined for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands after he fouled out of the game. The incident resulted in Curry being ejected with just under five minutes left.

Kerr was slapped with his fine after he openly criticised officials for their calls on Curry during his post-game news conference.

“He’s the MVP of the league. He gets six fouls called on him. Three of them were absolutely ridiculous,” Kerr said.

“He steals the ball from Kyrie [Irving] clean at one point, LeBron [James] flops on the last one – [official] Jason Phillips falls for that for a flop. This is the MVP of the league we’re talking about these touch fouls in the NBA Finals.

“Let me be clear. We did not lose because of the officiating. They totally outplayed us.

“I’m happy he threw his mouthpiece. He should be upset. It’s the Finals, and everybody is competing out there. There’s fouls on every play, it’s a physical game.”

The series reaches its finale on Sunday in game seven at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
