Nigerian Italian-based players Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman combined to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead against Cameroon in the second-round game at the ongoing AFCON in Ivory Coast.
After Nigeria had a goal scored by Semi Ajayi ruled out for offside in the early minutes of the game, the Super Eagles ensured they ended the first half on top.
It was Victor Osimhen who did almost all the work, fighting to snatch a loose ball from Christopher Wooh following a lack of concentration from the Cameroonian defender.
The Napoli striker held onto the ball and slid it to onrushing Ademola Lookman, whose effort luckily went past Fabrice Ondoa in goal for the Indomitable Lions.
