Super Falcons finally get a win after losing 7 consecutive games
Esther Okoronkwo scored the only goal as Nigeria beat Costa Rica to chalk their first win at the 2023 Revelation Cup and their first win in 8 games.
Coach Randy Waldrum made a couple of changes to the team that started the games against Mexico, and Columbia by handing game time to new players.
In goal, Esther Balogun replaced dependable Chiamaka Nnadozie; Esther Okoronkwo, and Jennifer Onyi Echegini were also given a starting berth.
It was Jennifer Onyi Echegini and Esther Okoronkwo who combined to finally hand Nigeria the first win after seven consecutive defeats.
Super Falcons played a much better game compared to the last two games at the tournament.
