We only acted within our rights, Huesca deny Nwakali’s allegations

Spanish second division club Huesca have denied allegations leveled against them by Kelechi Nwakali.

The Super Eagles midfielder whose contract was terminated by the Spanish club revealed the reasons behind the termination in lengthy statement.

Kelechi Nwakali mentioned his decision to play for Nigeria at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, his refusal to sign a contract extension amongst other as the reasons behind the termination.

But the Spanish club have denied acting wrong saying they only acted within their legal rights.

“In relation to the statements made by Kelechi Nwakali today after the early termination of the contract that linked him with SD Huesca, the club wishes to express its total rejection of their lack of veracity, all with the total conviction that the club has acted at all times with the utmost respect for the player,”reads the statement.

“Although, and given the seriousness of some of the statements made in the statement, this club reserves the exercise of any actions it deems appropriate in defense of its legitimate rights and interests.”
